Gaillac-Graulhet Agglomération will prioritize six major education infrastructure projects in 2026, focusing on facility modernization, energy efficiency, and a transition to centralized school catering. The intercommunal authority aims to upgrade school sites across the territory, including extensions in Lagrave and Lisle-sur-Tarn, alongside a long-term plan to relocate Graulhet’s Crins school by 2028.
Lagrave and Lisle-sur-Tarn Expansions
The 2026 budget targets specific school sites for comprehensive renovations. In Lagrave, the intercommunal body is continuing an expansion project to increase school capacity.
Simultaneously, the school in Lisle-sur-Tarn is undergoing a renovation of its ALAE (Accueil de Loisirs Associé à l’École) facilities. In Salvagnac, the project scope includes both the rehabilitation of existing structures and the construction of an extension to meet current educational requirements.
Sainte-Cécile-d’Avès and Senouillac Refurbishments
Two specific sites—the Sainte-Cécile-d’Avès school in Gaillac and the school in Senouillac—are the focus of dedicated energy performance programs.
These renovations are part of a broader policy by the Agglomération to reduce the environmental impact of its education portfolio.
Multi-Year Crins School Relocation
In Graulhet, the Crins project is structured as a multi-year development concluding in 2028. The current phase involves design studies and the installation of temporary modular buildings to maintain school operations.
The project involves a strategic shift in land use: the current Marguerite Yourcenar media library is slated to eventually house the school, while a new media library will be constructed near the Vertigo cinema. The city expects the full transition to be operational by September 2028.
New Public Central Kitchen Facility
To modernize school food services, the Agglomération is developing a new central kitchen. This facility is designed to bring the production of 2,500 daily meals under direct public management.
Currently, the regional school catering system serves approximately 5,500 meals per day across 47 different sites.
