Samsung Galaxy A5x Series Receives February 2026 Security Update
Samsung is rolling out a software update to four of its Galaxy A5x series smartphones in South Korea: the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A53. The update includes the February 2026 security patch, addressing 37 security vulnerabilities and enhancing device security.

Users can initiate the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Rollout Timeline
Samsung is expected to expand the availability of this update to other regions in the coming days. Even as Samsung typically releases monthly security updates, the February 2026 patch was slightly delayed, likely due to the company’s focus on the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event, where the Galaxy S26 series and Buds 4 were launched.
One UI 8.5 Update on the Horizon
The Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A53 are also slated to receive the One UI 8.5 update (based on Android 16 QPR2). This major update will introduce a redesigned user interface and a host of novel features. Samsung anticipates beginning the rollout of One UI 8.5 to eligible devices in the next few weeks.
