The court heard that Naidu has a history of mental health issues, having been previously sectioned in a hospital and care center on two occasions last year. His defense counsel, Kevin McCrave, emphasized naidu’s profound mental health difficulties. naidu himself stated in court that he has been in Ireland for 26 years, having arrived as a refugee, and that he had recently lost his job after a vehicle accident while employed as a landscaping foreman.
Legal Proceedings and Bail Denial
Naidu was initially detained under the Mental Health Act and briefly evaluated at Connolly Memorial Hospital before being rearrested. He was charged with four counts of possessing offensive weapons and was denied bail by Judge Karen Dowling.
