Cootehill ESB Site Targeted in Theft and Vandalism
Gardaí in Cootehill are investigating the theft of a Bomag battery and a significant quantity of diesel fuel, alongside damage to machinery at an ESB site in Mountain Lodge, Cootehill. the incident occurred between 3:00 PM on January 26th and 8:00 AM on January 28th, 2026.
ESB staff discovered the damage and theft upon returning to the site on January 28th. Along with the stolen battery and diesel, two diesel caps were also taken. Gardaí are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the Mountain Lodge ESB site during the specified timeframe.
