Gary Windass Receives Eight-Month Sentence at Highfield Prison
Actor Mikey North teased that the prison guard’s offer might not be genuine, according to Digital Spy, as Gary Windass began an eight-month sentence at Highfield Prison for perverting the course of justice in connection with Theo Silverton’s murder. Sarah Platt was recently found not guilty by a jury that believed she killed Theo in self-defence on the night she called Gary to move the murder weapon. Following the sentencing outcome reported by Radio Times on Tuesday, 20th October 2026, Maria Connor was left furious after spotting Sarah and Bethany Platt walking young Harry to school. Meanwhile, Gary’s son Jake has moved out of the family home due to hurt over his father’s actions.
Ross Wilkes Offers Support as Gary Adjusts to Life Inside
Tyrone Dobbs reminded Maria Connor that his father, Ross Wilkes, worked as a prison officer at Highfield when Maria grew upset over her family being torn apart. Kirk Sutherland referred to Ross as a screw, prompting Ross to reply, I prefer not to use that word, thank you. Makes it sound aggressive,
and arguing that his role was closer to social work, as detailed by Digital Spy. Maria then asked Ross to look out for Gary on his wing, and Ross agreed to keep an eye on him with a reassuring wink. At Highfield, Ross visited Gary in his cell, where Gary noted, It’s nice to see a familiar face.
While Ross insisted that Theo deserved his fate and that Gary would be released soon, actor Mikey North explained to Digital Spy that Gary remains deeply sceptical of the guard’s odd behavior.
Bethany Platt Reveals a Pregnancy After Maria Storms the Bistro
Radio Times reported that Maria stormed into the Bistro and publicly announced Gary’s eight-month sentence while Sarah Platt, Bethany Platt, and Gareth Pierce’s character Todd Grimshaw were having lunch. Maria shoved cake into Sarah’s face, knocking Bethany to the floor when she tried to intervene in the confrontation. Bethany visited the hospital for an x-ray on her sore arm, where a nurse asked if she might be pregnant, prompting Bethany to admit to Sarah that she is expecting a baby. Sarah was overjoyed by the news, completely unaware that Kit Green is the father following a one-night stand while Sarah was in prison. Kit had previously rejected Sarah and shared an awkward moment collecting his things from the flat, unaware that Bethany is carrying his child.
