GeForce NOW Boosts VR Gaming to 90 FPS on Apple Vision Pro and Beyond

Nvidia’s GeForce NOW Ultimate tier now supports virtual reality (VR) gaming at up to 90 frames per second (fps) on Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest devices and Pico headsets, delivering smoother and more responsive gameplay. This upgrade, rolling out to members starting March 19, 2026, enhances the immersive experience for VR gamers.

Enhanced Performance for Apple Vision Pro

The original M2 Apple Vision Pro supports refresh rates up to 100Hz, while the newer M5 model supports up to 120Hz. Previously, GeForce NOW streaming was capped at 60Hz for its free and Performance ($10/month) tiers. The Ultimate tier, priced at $20/month, unlocks the 90Hz streaming rate, providing a significant visual improvement.

With the Ultimate tier, Apple Vision Pro users can stream games at up to 4K resolution at 90 FPS in Custom mode, compared to 1440p 90FPS on Quest and Pico headsets. The Ultimate tier also offers quadruple the vCPU and RAM of the free tier, along with an RTX 5080 equivalent GPU for some titles and an RTX 4080 for others. On the default Balanced quality mode, the Ultimate tier streams at 1080p 90FPS.

Regional Availability and Latency Requirements

Before getting started, GeForce NOW members should ensure the service is available in their region. Nvidia requires latency to be less than 80ms from an NVIDIA data center, but recommends less than 40ms for optimal performance. Users can run a network test within the GeForce NOW app (available on Windows PC, Mac, or mobile devices) to measure their latency. Nvidia advises against using general internet speed tests, as they don’t specifically measure speed to their data centers. Source

Apple Vision Pro Requirements

To ensure a smooth streaming experience on Apple Vision Pro, the following specifications are recommended:

  • WiFi Connection: A 5 GHz WiFi connection is recommended.
  • HD Streaming (up to 60 FPS): 15 Mbps (e.g., 1280×720)
  • FHD Streaming (60 FPS): 25 Mbps (e.g., 1920×1080)
  • QHD Streaming (60 FPS): 35 Mbps (e.g., 2560×1440)
  • QHD Streaming (90 FPS): 45 Mbps (e.g., 2560×1440)
  • 4K Streaming (up to 60 FPS): 40 Mbps (e.g., 3840×2160)
  • 4K Streaming (up to 90 FPS): 55 Mbps (e.g., 3840×2160)

Expanding Gaming Options

GeForce NOW brings game streaming to Apple Vision Pro and Mac, offering access to titles not natively available on either platform. New additions include support for X-Plane, a leading flight simulator, and iRacing, with visionOS 26.4 compatibility. Source

Gamepad Compatibility

A supported Bluetooth gamepad is required for gameplay. Compatible controllers include the Microsoft Xbox One and Xbox Series controllers, and Sony DualShock 4 controllers. Note that the gamepad does not function for the GeForce NOW login screen or other options within the app; Apple Vision Pro gestures are required for these functions. Source

GeForce NOW is also boosting support for Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest devices and Pico devices to stream at up to 90 fps for Ultimate members, bringing crisper motion and more responsive gameplay straight from the cloud. Source
