Generation Z Job Seekers Consult AI More Than Family for Personal Guidance
Generation Z job seekers now turn to generative artificial intelligence more frequently than family members or romantic partners when seeking personal advice, according to a survey published by recruitment platform Jinhaksa Catch.
Survey Results on Job Seeker Preferences
The survey of 1,110 job seekers details how respondents rank their support networks when facing sudden problems. Friends remain the top choice at 31 percent, but generative AI captures the second spot at 26 percent. Family members follow at 18 percent, while romantic partners sit at 13 percent, as reported by the Korea Herald.
Most Users Engage with AI Several Times Daily
Engagement with these digital tools extends beyond occasional queries. Fifty-eight percent of respondents state they use generative AI several times a day. About 70 percent report sharing personal concerns or feelings directly with an AI service. Among those who share emotional burdens, 76 percent act on the recommendations provided by the software, and 79 percent describe the resulting advice as helpful.
Motivations for Choosing Algorithmic Counseling
Users point to specific functional attributes when explaining why they confide in chatbots rather than peers. The primary reason, cited by 27 percent of respondents, is the ability of AI to deliver objective solutions. Another 22 percent value the complete lack of judgment from an automated system, and 20 percent emphasize the convenience of 24-hour availability.
