Door County’s Genevieve Heyward Shines on ‘American Idol,’ Heads to Hawaii for Ohana Round
Door County’s Genevieve Heyward continues her journey on “American Idol,” advancing to the Top 30 after a compelling performance during Hollywood Week: Music City Takeover on March 2nd. The 26-year-old indie rock artist, originally from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, captivated judges with her rendition of Brandi Carlile’s “The Story.”
Powerful Performance Earns Spot in Top 30
Heyward’s performance, accompanied by a band and featuring a black dress with white and silver fringe, resonated with judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. Luke Bryan praised her stage presence, stating, “Wow, you have this energy around you that you just feel like you want to be onstage, like owning the moment, and you should be very, very happy.” Green Bay Press-Gazette

Ohana Round in Hawaii
Heyward is now among the 30 contestants moving on to the “Ohana Round,” filmed at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii.
