New Community Hospital Opens in Giaveno, Italy, Enhancing Local Healthcare Access

Giaveno, Italy – February 20, 2026 – A new Community Hospital has opened in Giaveno, Italy, as part of a broader reorganization of territorial healthcare services. The facility, located on the first floor of the health center on Via Seminario 45, offers short-term, intermediate hospitalization options, bridging the gap between hospital care and returning home.

This Community Hospital is one of four planned within the ASL TO3 territory, with additional facilities slated for Pomaretto, Torre Pellice, and Venaria. Existing health center services will continue to operate alongside the new hospital.

The hospital aims to provide a safe discharge pathway following a hospital stay and to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions for patients experiencing exacerbations of chronic conditions. It will offer low to medium-intensity clinical interventions, supported by continuous nursing care.

The ASL TO3 (Azienda Sanitaria Locale Torino 3) manages public health services for a catchment area of approximately 600,000 people and includes 11 outpatient facilities, three inpatient psychiatric emergency hospital wards, two day treatment centers, and numerous residential facilities. The Mental Health Department within ASL TO3 treats around 9,000 cases annually, receiving approximately 3,000 new cases each year.
