GIIAS 2026 to Remain at ICE BSD Despite Relocation Considerations
Jakarta – The Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries) has confirmed that the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) will be held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City in Tangerang. This decision comes after evaluating potential relocation options, including Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) in North Jakarta.
Decision Confirmed by Gaikindo Chairman
Jongkie Sugiarto, Chairman I of Gaikindo, stated that GIIAS 2026 will remain at ICE BSD. This decision was made despite an increasing number of exhibitors and previous discussions about potentially moving the event.
Future Location Remains Undecided
While the location for GIIAS 2026 is set, the future location of the event beyond 2026 remains uncertain. Sugiarto indicated that the location for GIIAS 2027 has not yet been decided and that many possibilities are still being considered.
PIK as a Potential Future Venue
When questioned about the possibility of PIK becoming a future venue for GIIAS, Sugiarto stated that a number of factors would need to be considered before making a decision. He noted that the organization would evaluate whether other locations might be more suitable based on evolving needs.
GIIAS History and Previous Locations
Prior to its current location at ICE BSD, GIIAS was likewise held in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The potential move to PIK was considered due to its status as a National Strategic Project (PSN) and its concentration of residents with strong economic standing.
GJAW 2026 to Focus on Sales and Promotions
Separately, the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2026, also held at ICE BSD City, will focus on sales transactions and year-end promotions, offering attractive deals and collaborations between the automotive, lifestyle, and related industries. Unlike GIIAS, which emphasizes technology launches, GJAW is designed as a sales-driven exhibition.
The decision to maintain GIIAS 2026 at ICE BSD reflects a commitment to a proven venue while keeping future options open for potential relocation based on evolving industry needs and strategic considerations.
