Google Play System Updates Paused for Galaxy S26 One UI 9 Beta

Google Play System updates have been temporarily paused for Samsung Galaxy devices running beta software, according to an announcement by Samsung US cited by SamMobile. The pause affects devices currently enrolled in active testing programs, notably the Galaxy S26 series running the One UI 9.0 (Android 17) beta.

Samsung and Google Pause Play System Updates on Beta Software

According to Samsung US, the suspension of Google Play System updates is being coordinated directly with Google for all devices running beta builds of One UI. Because the One UI 9.0 beta program for the Galaxy S26 lineup is Samsung’s primary active testing rollout, the pause centers heavily on these flagship units. Samsung stated that critical security patches from Google have already been deployed to these beta devices through the test software itself, allowing users to continue operating their phones without security compromises.

When Will Google Play System Updates Resume?

Samsung has confirmed that Google Play System updates will resume at an appropriate time, though a precise calendar date has not been set. According to the company’s statement reported by SamMobile, standard update delivery may restart either during the ongoing beta testing window or immediately following the release of the stable One UI 9.0 software version to the public. Stable rollouts for eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets are anticipated in the coming weeks.
