Indonesia Accelerates Temporary Housing for Aceh Tamiang Disaster victims

The Indonesian government is expediting the construction of temporary housing in Aceh Tamiang Regency to support those affected by recent disasters. Work is progressing rapidly, including overnight shifts, to provide immediate shelter for displaced families.

The project involves a phased development of modular housing units at strategic locations, a collaborative effort between the Indonesia Investment Management Agency (Danantara) and state-owned enterprises like PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) and PT wijaya Karya Bangunan Gedung (WEGE). These modular structures are designed for swift occupancy and will ultimately accommodate hundreds of families, complete with essential infrastructure.

These temporary shelters are equipped with vital amenities including electricity, clean water, and sanitation facilities. Moreover, the design incorporates spaces to foster community and social interaction, aiding in the recovery process as residents await the rebuilding of permanent homes.

This initiative underscores the governmentS dedication to effective disaster response and aims to provide safety, comfort, and facilitate the restoration of community life in Aceh Tamiang.
