Obituary: Grace M. Kotowicz, 80, of Frankfort

Grace Kotowicz, an 80-year-old resident of Frankfort, Illinois, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, according to an obituary. She died at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care in Joliet.

Life, Career, and Community Involvement

Born to Joseph and Mary Vercellotti (Walowski), Grace Kotowicz graduated from Joliet Township High School before pursuing a career in nursing. She earned her nursing credentials from the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and later graduated from the University of St. Francis, according to records.

Outside of her career, Kotowicz was heavily involved in local organizations in the Frankfort area. She served as a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Frankfort, acted as the president of the Brookridge Creek Homeowners Association, and led the Diamonds in the Rough Ladies Golf League at the Sanctuary Golf Course, as detailed.

Surviving Family and Preceded Relatives

According to the obituary, Kotowicz is survived by her husband, Andrew Kotowicz Sr., and her children, Christen (Donald) Ryan and Andrew (Laura) Kotowicz Jr. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Daniel (Rachel) Hall, Dr. Callista Hall, and Elizabeth Kotowicz.

Additionally, she is survived by six siblings: Joseph Vercellotti, Dr. John Vercellotti, Leonard Vercellotti, Rosalie Voda, Gloria McConnell, and Dr. Gregory Vercellotti. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Vercellotti, as well as her siblings Margaret Hoffmann and Mary Babcock.

Funeral Services and Memorial Arrangements

Family and friends may gather for visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, located at 7659 W. Sauk Trail in Frankfort, Illinois, according to records. A funeral Mass will follow at the church at 10:00 AM.

Following the services, interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, Illinois. In lieu of traditional floral tributes, the family has requested that memorial donations be directed to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network through their official website at pancan.org.
