Brutal Attack in Kallithea: Woman Beaten by Partner Outside Nightclub

A 45-year-old woman was severely assaulted by her partner outside a nightclub in Kallithea, Athens, on Saturday night. The incident, captured on video, has sparked outrage and led to the arrest of a 49-year-old man for domestic violence.

Details of the Assault

According to reports, the couple had been at a nightclub in the area when an argument escalated into a violent attack. The woman was walking on Eleftheriou Venizelou Street when her partner began chasing her. Witnesses described a brutal assault involving punches, kicks, and being dragged along the street. Passersby immediately contacted emergency services.

The woman testified that the 49-year-old attacked her immediately after leaving the nightclub on Harokopou Street, striking her with hands and feet and causing scratches. Police located the couple on the junction of Theseos and Davaki streets, approximately 700 meters from a store, where the woman managed to escape and seek help.

Police Intervention and Arrest

Officers arriving at the scene reported that the 49-year-old continued to pull the woman while she was on the pavement and calling for assistance. The man, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, was arrested and charged with domestic violence. He reportedly claimed his partner was intentionally harming herself and he did not intervene.
