The 2026 NSAA Nebraska State Wrestling Championships are underway, with several athletes showcasing impressive performances. Mara Vanderpool of Omaha Westside and Jaylee Ingham of Plattsmouth have both advanced to the championship finals in their respective weight classes.

Vanderpool Dominates in Semifinal Bout

Wrestling at 100 pounds, Mara Vanderpool (Omaha Westside), with a season record of 33-3, secured a victory by fall over Rileigh Dane of Gering (40-7) in just 57 seconds. This win propels Vanderpool into the state final, where she will compete for the championship title. Vanderpool was second in the 2025 state championships.

Ingham Secures Final Berth with Quick Pin

Jaylee Ingham (Plattsmouth), boasting a record of 38-9, also advanced to the finals with a decisive victory. She defeated Olivia Bice of Columbus (39-12) by fall in a swift 36 seconds. Ingham’s quick pin demonstrates her strength and skill as she moves forward in the competition.
