Gypsy Rose Blanchard publicly asserted on October 22, 2026, that investigators know with 100% certainty that her former partner, Ken Urker, did not die by suicide. Urker was found dead on his 34th birthday on October 1, 2026, at his home in Raceland, Louisiana, according to Us Weekly.
Advocating for Kenan’s Law
Blanchard updated an anti-cyberbullying petition to advocate for Kenan’s Law, named after Urker’s legal name, Kenan.
Blanchard stated that the cyberbullying Urker experienced drove him to develop unhealthy coping strategies involving drugs and alcohol.

Pending Toxicology Results
Authorities have not yet determined an official cause of death. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed that its investigation remains ongoing while toxicology results are pending, as reported by Page Six.
An incident report obtained by Page Six noted that investigators found drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun at the scene when responding to the Raceland residence. While law enforcement officials stated they have found no evidence of foul play thus far, they have not explicitly ruled it out.
Blanchard and Autumn Urker Exchange Public Criticisms
Public friction followed Urker’s death as Blanchard and Urker’s sister, Autumn Urker, exchanged public criticisms. Us Weekly reported that Blanchard addressed Autumn’s social media statements on October 13, 2026, writing on Instagram that family members are not necessarily privy to every detail of a person’s life.
Blanchard stated that Urker had confided in her during their final phone call that Autumn planned to intensify public attacks against him. Autumn Urker condemned Blanchard’s public statements following the death, stating that the family was disgusted by them.

Leaked Audio Reveals Blanchard Hoped Urker Would Overdose
Concurrently, audio recordings from December 2020 and March 2021 captured Blanchard telling her then-boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, that she had previously told Urker she hoped he would overdose during their on-and-off relationship. Anderson, whom Blanchard was dating at the time, cut off the conversation on the recorded calls.
Blanchard and Urker initially connected as pen pals in 2017 while Blanchard served a prison sentence for her role in the 2015 killing of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Blanchard and Urker later rekindled their romance and welcomed a daughter named Aurora in December 2024 before quietly splitting shortly before Urker’s death.
