Halodoc Report Highlights Rising Anxiety During Ramadan and Post-Eid Health Trends
Jakarta, Indonesia – – Halodoc, a leading digital health-tech platform in Indonesia, presented findings from its Indonesia Health Insights Q1 2026 report at the Halodoc Talks Episode 2 event. The report, titled “Bridging Health Readiness and Challenges during Ramadan to Eid Al-Fitr Celebrations,” reveals increasing health concerns, both physical and mental, during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period. The event featured a collaboration with Apical, a vegetable oil processing company.
Rising Anxiety Levels During Ramadan
The Indonesia Health Insights Q1 2026 report indicates a notable increase in anxiety disorders, peaking in the third week of Ramadan at 27%. This highlights the mental health challenges individuals face during this period of increased religious observance and lifestyle changes. Halodoc emphasizes the importance of data-driven insights and medical perspectives to help the public prepare for and navigate potential health disruptions before, during, and after Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Halodoc Research Insights provides in-depth analysis of Indonesia’s health trends, reviewed by a Board of Medical Excellence (BoME) to ensure accuracy.
Post-Eid Health Trends: Metabolic Awareness and Digestive Issues
The report also identified significant health trends following Eid al-Fitr. A sharp increase of +95% was observed in cholesterol and blood sugar lab tests in the first week after Eid, compared to the usual weekly average. This suggests a growing awareness and proactive approach to health monitoring among Indonesians. Concurrently, purchases of diet health products rose by 62%, with fiber drinks, detox teas, cholesterol control supplements, and herbal slimming capsules being the most sought-after items.
Digestive health also emerged as a key concern. Complaints of constipation increased by +20% in the first week of Ramadan and peaked at +37% during the week of Idul Fitri. Diarrhea complaints rose by +13% two weeks after the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, with common symptoms including stomach ache, vomiting, fever, and weakness.
Expert Tips for a Healthy Eid al-Fitr
Dr. Waluyo Dwi Cahyono, SpPDKEMD, FINASIM, a specialist doctor partnering with Halodoc, offered advice for celebrating Eid al-Fitr while maintaining good health. Key recommendations include:
- Balanced Meal Portions: Maintain balanced meal portions, incorporating sufficient vegetables and fruits to aid fiber control and fat absorption.
- Diet Transitions: Allow the body to adapt after a month of fasting, starting Eid al-Fitr with easily digestible foods and avoiding overly spicy or sour dishes immediately.
- Alternative Cooking Methods: Utilize healthier cooking methods like grilling or sautéing with quality oils to preserve the natural flavors of ingredients.
- Hydration and Rest: Ensure adequate hydration and sufficient rest to maintain overall endurance.
“Maintaining health during the holidays does not mean limiting fun and celebrations,” stated Dr. Waluyo. “With a few adjustments to how we process and consume food, we can retain digestive health and metabolism stable, so that the Eid al-Fitr moment can be enjoyed to the fullest with the family.”
