Hamas Proposes Weapon ‘Freeze’ for long-Term Ceasefire
Gaza City – Senior leaders of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, emphasized his group’s rejection of disarmament, as regulated in the Gaza peace plan proposed by the United States of America (US) Donald Trump. However, Meshaal also stated that Hamas is open to “freezing” its fighters’ weapons.
AFP reported this confirmation on Thursday, December 11, 2025, based on an interview meshaal gave to leading Qatari media, Al Jazeera, which aired on wednesday, December 10, local time.
“The idea of total disarmament is unacceptable to the resistance (Hamas). What is proposed is the freezing,or storage (of weapons)… to provide a guarantee that there will be no military escalation of any kind from Gaza to the Israeli occupation,” Meshaal said in the interview.
