In the 1980s and 1990s, access to indoor badminton facilities was scarce in Hamirpur. Degree colleges, engineering institutions, and polytechnic colleges lacked dedicated indoor courts. Last year, the badminton team from Himachal Pradesh secured a gold medal at the National School Games Federation Championship, with a significant proportion of the team members hailing from Hamirpur.
