Harry Potter Flagship Store to Enchant Oxford Street This Autumn

London is set to welcome a massive new Harry Potter flagship store on Oxford Street this autumn, joining the existing magical experiences available in the city. The store, spanning 21,000 square feet across two floors, will be located within The Ribbon development at 134-140 Oxford Street . This will be the second official Harry Potter retail destination in the UK, complementing the shop at King’s Cross Station.

A Wizarding Emporium in the Heart of London

Warner Bros. Has announced that the interior of the new store will be designed as a “wizarding emporium,” celebrating the iconic locations featured in the Harry Potter books and films . Fans and visitors can expect photo opportunities and interactive activities alongside exclusive merchandise.

Karl Durrant, Warner Bros. Senior vice president of worldwide retail, stated that the store will offer “a completely new retail experience for Harry Potter fans which will delight and entertain, it’s going to be very special.” He also emphasized the deep connection between Harry Potter and British storytelling, noting that the location in London, a city prominently featured in the stories, is particularly fitting .

Part of a Growing Harry Potter Presence in London

The new Oxford Street store adds to the growing collection of Harry Potter experiences operated by Warner Bros. In London, including the popular Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter and the Harry Potter shop at King’s Cross Station .

Oxford Street Pedestrianization Plans

The arrival of the Harry Potter store coincides with plans to pedestrianize a section of Oxford Street. London Mayor Sadiq Khan approved plans in February to ban traffic from a 0.7-mile stretch between Oxford Circus and Marble Arch. Work to pedestrianize the road is expected to initiate this summer, with the first traffic-free section introduced by the end of the year. Oxford Street is one of the world’s busiest shopping areas, attracting around half a million visitors each day.
