Harvard Women’s Swimming & Diving at NCAA Championships: Lu and Janmyr Compete in Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA – Harvard Women’s Swimming & Diving continued competition at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday, with Sydney Lu and Nina Janmyr representing the Crimson. Lu competed in the 100 fly, while Janmyr participated in the 1-meter springboard.
Lu Makes Nationals Debut in 100 Fly
Sydney Lu, the Ivy League champion in the 100 fly, qualified for the national meet for the first time in her career. Entering the competition with the 35th-best time in Division I this season, the senior finished with a time of 53.10, not advancing to the finals. Despite this, Lu was the only Ivy League swimmer to compete in the event. She is scheduled to return to the pool on Saturday to compete in the 200 fly.
Janmyr Concludes Collegiate Diving Career
Nina Janmyr finished 43rd on the 1-meter board, earning a score of 236.65. While her performance did not qualify her for the finals, it marked the conclusion of an outstanding collegiate diving career. Janmyr previously qualified for the NCAA Championships on the 1-meter springboard after finishing sixth at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships according to Harvard Athletics.
Looking Ahead
Alexandra Bastone and Anya Mostek are set to compete on Friday. Bastone will return for the 500 free, while Mostek will compete in the 100 back and 50 free. Prelims are scheduled for 10 a.m. ET, with finals at 6 p.m. ET. All events will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Harvard is making its 14th consecutive NCAA appearance as reported by BVM Sports.
