Harvey Weinstein Expresses Happiness for Ex-Wife Georgina Chapman’s Relationship with Adrien Brody
Disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein, currently serving a 16-year sentence for sex crimes, has publicly stated he is “happy” for his ex-wife, Georgina Chapman, and her relationship with actor Adrien Brody. The comments came during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter from Rikers Island prison.
A New Chapter for Chapman and Brody
Chapman and Brody have been in a relationship since 2019. Brody notably acknowledged Chapman and her children with Weinstein – India Pearl, 15, and Dashiell Max Robert, 12 – in his 2025 Oscar acceptance speech, stating the children affectionately call him “popsy.”
Weinstein’s Response
When asked about Brody’s shout-out during the Oscars, Weinstein responded, “No! I was happy. It’s good that my kids have someone in their lives.” He also expressed remorse for the pain he caused Chapman, stating, “And Georgina suffered terribly because of me. I’m glad she’s finally found some happiness.”
Continued Contact with Children
Despite no longer speaking to Chapman, Weinstein indicated that she allows him to maintain contact with their children.
Impact on Chapman’s Career
Weinstein also acknowledged the negative impact the allegations against him had on Chapman’s fashion label, Marchesa. He stated that many actresses who had previously worn her designs stopped doing so after the allegations became public, expressing regret over the situation. He maintained that Chapman was unaware of his actions and that punishing her company was “madness.”
Background
Chapman and Weinstein were married from 2007 to 2021, separating in 2017 following initial allegations of sexual misconduct against Weinstein. Weinstein was convicted of sex crimes in California in 2022 and is currently serving a 16-year sentence.
