Hayley Scamurra: From Buffalo Beauts to Olympic Gold and PWHL Star

Hayley Scamurra, a Williamsville, New York native, has emerged as a prominent figure in professional women’s ice hockey. Currently playing for the Montreal Victoire of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), Scamurra’s career is marked by both team and individual success, culminating in a silver medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics and a gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Early Career and Collegiate Success

Before reaching the professional ranks, Scamurra honed her skills at Northeastern University from 2013 to 2017. During her collegiate career, she amassed an impressive 111 points in 123 games. Her contributions were recognized with the Hockey East Best Defensive Forward award in her senior season and she was a three-time Hockey East All-Academic Team selection. Prior to college, Scamurra gained valuable experience playing in the Ontario Junior Women’s League for the Oakville Jr. Hornets and Burlington Jr. Barracudas.

Scamurra’s professional journey began with the Buffalo Beauts, where she won the Isobel Cup in 2017. She has since played for the Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres before joining the Montreal Victoire in the PWHL.
