Sky Unifies Streaming with Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max
Sky has announced a groundbreaking new subscription service bringing together Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single Sky TV package. The move aims to simplify entertainment access for customers and offer competitive value in the streaming market.
Sky Ultimate TV: A Single Hub for Streaming
Starting in March 2026, new Sky customers can access Sky, HBO Max, Disney+, Hayu, and Netflix through Sky Ultimate TV for £24 per month. Existing Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Sky Ultimate TV will receive Disney+ Standard with Ads, HBO Max Basic with Ads, and Hayu content added to their existing subscription. Sky Q customers with eligible packages will also gain access to these streaming services, with those on Sky Ultimate TV receiving Netflix in addition to the others.
HBO Max Launch and Content Availability
HBO Max will launch in the UK and Ireland on March 26, 2026, becoming available through Sky and Amazon Prime Video. The service will offer content from HBO, Warner Bros., DC Studios, and Max Originals. Sky customers will have access to HBO Max Basic with Ads. Sky highlights that HBO Max is the home of popular series like Game of Thrones, Euphoria, Friends, and Sex and the City.
Streaming Tier Options and Pricing
HBO Max will offer five subscription tiers at launch, ranging from £4.99 to £14.99 per month. These tiers vary in price based on features like ad inclusion, streaming devices, and video quality. NME details the tiers as follows:
- Basic With Ads (£4.99/month): Full HD streaming on two devices, access to all HBO Max TV shows and movies (excluding immediate access to theatrical releases).
- Standard With Ads (£5.99/month): Full HD streaming on two devices, 30 downloads, access to all HBO Max TV shows and movies, including recent theatrical releases.
- Standard (£9.99/month): Full HD streaming on two devices without ads, 30 downloads, access to all HBO Max TV shows and movies, including recent theatrical releases.
- Premium (£14.99/month): 4K Ultra HD streaming with Dolby Atmos on four devices without ads, 100 downloads.
Disney+ and Hayu Integration
Disney+ Standard with Ads will be available from March (date to be confirmed), and Hayu will offer a selection of top shows from March, with full integration for Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers. Existing Disney+ customers can migrate their plans to Sky and potentially save £5.99 per month.
Sky’s Expanded Entertainment Offering
This expansion builds on Sky’s existing partnerships, including Warner Bros. Discovery, to deliver a comprehensive entertainment package. Sky Group emphasizes that this makes Sky the home of must-watch entertainment, combining popular streaming apps with Sky Originals and Exclusives.
