HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center has announced the appointment of Heather Ash, MSN, RN, as its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), effective January 18, 2026. Ash brings over 19 years of nursing leadership experience to the role, with a proven track record of enhancing patient care and driving nursing engagement HCA Houston Healthcare.
Experience and Background
Most recently, Ash served as Associate Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, where she spearheaded initiatives to strengthen patient care operations and advance the organization’s mission and values HCA Houston Healthcare.
Ash is recognized for her dedication to patient experience, nurse leader rounding and the executive sponsorship of interdisciplinary councils and safety initiatives HCA Houston Healthcare. She is also passionate about mentoring nurse leaders and fostering professional development within nursing teams.
Education and Professional Affiliations
Ash holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Petersburg College in Florida and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University HCA Houston Healthcare. She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the American Nurses Association.
