The fastest internet for Heidenau: vodafone activates fiber optics for 5,200 households

Düsseldorf, December 11, 2025 – Good news for the citizens of Heidenau. From now on, fast internet will be available to significantly more people. Up to 5,200 households can now book fiber optic connections via Vodafone at speeds of up to 1,000 megabits per second.
Fiber optic offers decisive advantages over DSL, especially for data-intensive applications such as video and music streaming or video conferences in the home office. The technology delivers higher speeds, lower latency, more stability and reliability. Around 60% of all Heidenau residents now benefit from the expansion, which is being created through joint expansion with OXG Glasfaser GmbH.
Citizens can order a fiber optic connection from Vodafone for just 19.99 euros per month. an availability check is possible at www.vodafone.de/privat/internet/glasfaser.html. Vodafone is temporarily offering interested customers for whom a fiber optic network has not yet been expanded or is still being expanded a gigabit supply via the existing cable fiber network. With more than 2,400 cable fiber optic connections, Vodafone’s Gigabit network already covers over 28% of households in Heidenau.

We rely on fiber optics and cable fiber for the gigabit supply to Heidenau.We are now launching a further 5,200 fiber optic connections,which we are expanding together with OXG.
