Henk Krol Returns to Brabant Following Divorce
Former politician and journalist Henk Krol is moving back to his roots in Brabant after his recent separation from his partner of fifteen years, Aldo Koning. The move marks a return to the region Krol previously called home before relocating to Zeewolde for love in 2022.
Relocation Driven by Relationship End
Krol announced his decision on X, stating that he is returning to Brabant now that his relationship has ended. He specifically mentioned having moved to Zeewolde “for my ex,” implying the relocation was made to be closer to Koning. RTL Boulevard reports that Krol is also putting his house in Zeewolde up for sale.
Fifteen-Year Relationship Ends
Krol and Koning, a former footballer, were together for fifteen years and were even engaged. The couple confirmed their separation in January 2026, citing a mutual decision after careful consideration. Shownieuws detailed the split, noting it was confirmed to Privé magazine.
Health Impact of the Breakup
The separation has reportedly taken a toll on Krol’s health. Omroep Brabant reports that Krol has lost 32 kilograms (approximately 70 pounds) since the breakup.
Looking Ahead
Despite the recent heartbreak, Krol has expressed a desire to find love again. He acknowledged the difficulty of being alone, but playfully questioned who would wish “this ugly, aged guy.” Nieuwe Revu highlighted this sentiment, indicating Krol remains open to future relationships.
