Hero Fiennes Tiffin, nephew of acclaimed actors Ralph and Joseph Fiennes, stars as a young Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming Prime Video series Young Sherlock, directed by Guy Ritchie. The premiere in London on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, drew support from the actor’s family and fellow stars.
Family Support at the Premiere
Fiennes Tiffin was joined at the Queen Elizabeth Hall premiere by his uncle, Joseph Fiennes, who plays Sherlock’s father, Silas Holmes, in the series. Joseph was accompanied by his wife, Maria Dolores Dieguez, and their two daughters, Eva and Isabel. Jacqui Ainsley, Ritchie’s wife, also attended, wearing a nude ruche dress.
A Star-Studded Cast
Young Sherlock boasts a cast including Zine Tseng, Dónal Finn, Max Irons, Natascha McElhone, Colin Firth, Adam James, Numan Acar, Rachel Shelley, and Simon Delaney. Finn portrays James Moriarty, Sherlock’s future adversary. Natascha McElhone plays Cordelia Holmes, Sherlock and Mycroft’s mother.
The Series: A Young Sherlock’s Origins
Based on Andrew Lane’s Young Sherlock Holmes novels, the series is described as an “irreverent, action-laden mystery” charting the early adventures of the iconic detective Just Jared. The story unfolds in 1870s Oxford and beyond, focusing on a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes as an amateur investigator at Oxford University. The plot centers around a murder case that threatens Holmes’s freedom and unravels a global conspiracy.
Fiennes Tiffin on His Role and Nepotism
Fiennes Tiffin, who previously played a young Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, has spoken openly about navigating his career with a famous family.
