Heroes Sanctuary, a pop culture and collectible boutique, is relocating from the Espace d’Erlon shopping gallery to 41 rue Chanzy in Reims. Manager Jérémy Quentin cited high rental costs and a declining number of tenants in the Espace d’Erlon as the primary drivers for the move, which is expected to be completed by late July.
High Rents and Vacancies Drive Exit from Espace d’Erlon
The departure of Heroes Sanctuary marks another loss for the Espace d’Erlon, a central shopping hub in Reims that has seen a steady decline in occupancy. According to manager Jérémy Quentin, the cost of the lease became unsustainable as the gallery continued to lose tenants. This trend follows the previous closures of several brands, including Naf Naf, Sergent Major, Alice Délice, La Chaise Longue, and Eat Salad.

Strategic Move to Rue Chanzy
Heroes Sanctuary is moving its operations to a 100-square-meter space at 41 rue Chanzy. This new location places the shop on the “voie des Sacres,” a historic route that sees significant pedestrian traffic and tourist activity. Quentin stated that the business is relying on a loyal customer base to follow the move and is betting on the recent city-led rehabilitation projects of the downtown axis to drive new foot traffic.
The transition began in late June with a “super sale” offering 50% discounts on most items to clear inventory before the move. The business expects to be fully operational at the new address by the end of July.
Retail Shift in Reims City Center
The 100-square-meter footprint of the new site is nearly identical to the space being vacated at Espace d’Erlon, suggesting the move is a strategic pivot based on overhead costs and location rather than a downsizing of the business.
