William Smith Hockey Game Postponed, fundraising Event Continues

Geneva, NY – January 30, 2026 – The William Smith College ice hockey team’s game against Buffalo State, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 31st, has been postponed due to severe winter weather conditions impacting the Buffalo, New York area. Both teams are actively collaborating to find a suitable reschedule date in february.

Despite the postponement, the Heron’s commitment to community engagement remains steadfast. The team will proceed with their planned fundraising efforts for Hockey Fights Cancer Night during the Hobart College Statesmen’s game against Potsdam on Saturday afternoon. Members of the William Smith ice hockey team will be present at The Cooler, beginning at 4:00 PM, collecting donations to benefit the American Cancer Society.
