BC Herscheid Celebrates Successful Weekend in Badminton with Key Victories

Herscheid, Germany – February 24, 2026 – The Badminton Club Herscheid (BC Herscheid) enjoyed a successful weekend, securing important wins for both its third and first teams. The third team solidified its position in the Bezirksklasse, whereas the first team fought for a crucial home victory in the Verbandsliga to bolster their relegation battle.

Third Team Dominates Iserlohner TS

On Saturday, February 21st, the third team of BC Herscheid achieved a decisive 6-2 victory against Iserlohner TS. The team currently holds second place in the Bezirksklasse.

The doubles matches set the tone for the evening, with Christian Flori and Niklas Müller securing a hard-fought win after dropping the first set (17-21, 22-20, 21-17). René Boueke and Artur Ksinsik, who stepped in for the ill Jan-Simon Claus, dominated their doubles match with scores of 21-6 and 21-9. Jennifer Fischer and Marie-Kristin Torbow added to the lead with a 21-16, 21-17 victory in the women’s doubles, bringing the score to 3-0.

In the singles matches, Flori and Boueke continued to contribute points for Herscheid. Niklas Müller, typically a mixed doubles player, made his singles debut and displayed strong effort despite a loss. Torbow also faced defeat in her women’s singles match. The final point was secured by Fischer and Ksinsik in the mixed doubles, winning in three sets (21-13, 19-21, 21-16), finalizing the 6-2 scoreline.

First Team Secures Hard-Fought Victory Against TuS Friedrichsdorf

The first team faced a challenging match against TuS Friedrichsdorf on Sunday, a team recently strengthened during the Rückrunde (second half of the season). After more than four hours of play and numerous three-set matches, BC Herscheid emerged with a 5-3 victory, distancing themselves from the lower conclude of the Verbandsliga table.

Pascal Galleinus and Rainer Cazzato initially lost their first men’s doubles match (14-21) but rallied to win the subsequent sets and secure a point for Herscheid. Andre Weckwerth and Jonas Lebus fought hard in the second men’s doubles but ultimately lost in close sets (16-21, 21-23), allowing Friedrichsdorf to tie the score.

Lea Lebus and Sally Gleim won their women’s doubles match after a tense battle, taking the decisive third set 21-16.

The men’s singles matches were particularly competitive. Galleinus (21-17, 17-21, 25-27) and Weckwerth (21-13, 15-21, 23-25) both fought until the very end but were narrowly defeated, giving Friedrichsdorf a 3-2 lead. Cazzato kept Herscheid in the game with a three-set win in the third men’s singles (18-21, 21-15, 21-19).

Lea Lebus then secured a crucial point with a dominant two-set victory in the women’s singles.

The deciding match came down to Jonas Lebus and Sally Gleim in the mixed doubles. They delivered a thrilling performance, winning in three sets (25-27, 21-18, 22-20) and securing the 5-3 victory for BC Herscheid.

Looking Ahead

The first team will face a double-header in two weeks, playing against Hövelhof 3 and the already-promoted Hövelhof 2.
