Hezbollah Urges Pope Leo to Reject Israeli Aggression Against Lebanon

Jakarta – Hezbollah urgently called on Pope Leo XIV to reject what thay call the “injustice and aggression” of Israel towards Lebanon. They shared this message with the Pope ahead of his visit to Beirut, Lebanon this weekend.

A ceasefire a year ago was meant to end the fighting between Hezbollah and Israel. Though, Israel continues routine attacks in Lebanon, claiming they target Hezbollah operations and locations. Israel also maintains a military presence in five strategic locations in southern Lebanon.

Facing pressure from the United States and fearing large-scale Israeli attacks, the Lebanese government has pledged to disarm Hezbollah. The group strongly opposes this move.
