Speaking as the guest of honor during the student council handover ceremony, Francis Lukooya Mukoome told the newly elected student leaders that genuine responsibility demands strict time management, innovation, and continuous learning. According to Lukooya, true leaders prioritize the welfare of their peers and remain accountable to their community rather than seeking entitlement.
Outgoing Head Prefect Nasuuna Prescilla described her tenure as a ministry rooted in humility, diplomacy, and active listening. Taking over the mantle, incoming Head Prefect Lutaya Dickson promised a term defined by transparency, teamwork, and action, inviting constructive ideas from his fellow students and ongoing mentorship from teachers.
Institutional Growth and Infrastructure Needs
Recalling the founding of St. Andrew’s Ndwaddemutwe SEED Secondary School, Lukooya noted that he was among the local leaders who advocated for the institution to expand secondary education access in the area. He pledged to return for a comprehensive motivational lecture and committed to lobbying for additional computers and classroom infrastructure.
Headteacher Kigongo Nathan commended the government’s SEED Secondary School Programme and thanked district leaders for their foundational support. However, Nathan appealed to district authorities for building materials, specifically cement, to complete the school’s multipurpose hall, while urging parents to help eradicate student absenteeism.
Academic Focus and Spiritual Guidance
School Chaplain and Parish Priest Rev. Samuel Muwonge dedicated the new student cabinet to God during the ceremony, urging them to act as positive role models for their peers. Meanwhile, school administrator Nakaddu Winfred praised the electoral commission, led by Mr. Tazenya Nathan, for conducting a transparent transition.
Lukooya also urged learners to pursue academic excellence with single-minded determination, advising female students that lasting beauty rests in personal development and discipline while encouraging male students to invest heavily in their studies.
