ReSource Pro has launched a dedicated Data Services practice designed to help insurance businesses migrate, modernize, integrate, and improve their data to support emerging artificial intelligence initiatives, FinTech reported. The new practice operates a single data migration factory that handles between 50 and 75 migrations annually.
Launching the Data Services Practice
The Data Services practice was launched this spring, bringing together capabilities from three separate ReSource Pro acquisitions across the carrier, managing general agent (MGA), and retail insurance markets, according to FinTech. To date, the combined practice has completed more than 500 migration and data conversion projects, successfully moving upward of one billion records. Gerry Leitão serves as the Head of Data Services at ReSource Pro.
Leitão stated that client projects begin by identifying the specific outcomes an insurer aims to achieve rather than starting with a technology decision. While some insurance companies already maintain active modernization programs and established data teams, others lack the internal scale to build those capabilities on their own. ReSource Pro assists these organizations regardless of their current position in their data journey.
Transforming Migrations Into Data Improvements
ReSource Pro approaches core system migrations and corporate acquisitions as opportunities to resolve broader data deficiencies, rather than simply moving information from a legacy platform to a new target system. Traditional data migrations evaluate success strictly on whether information reconciles between platforms.
Rather than stopping at basic record reconciliation, the migration process is utilized to establish trusted data definitions, data lineage, clear ownership, and internal priorities for ongoing improvement. Leitão explained that the goal is to leave the underlying data in a better condition than when the process began.
Integrating Acquired Businesses and Carrier Portfolios
Corporate growth through acquisition introduces distinct data challenges for brokers and carriers. Organizations frequently acquire 20, 30, or even 40 separate agencies that continue running on disconnected platforms. Leitão noted that each acquired agency introduces an entirely separate set of relationship codes, data formats, and carrier contracts.
This operational fragmentation often results in the same carrier being split across multiple reporting structures and agreements within a single parent organization. Consolidating this information simplifies reporting while enhancing visibility into overall carrier performance and contingency opportunities.
Building a Stronger Foundation for Artificial Intelligence
The push to adopt artificial intelligence has accelerated the urgency for insurers to clean up underlying data errors. Historically, human employees could compensate for flawed information by identifying exceptions and relying on institutional knowledge to determine which sources were reliable. Leitão emphasized that AI removes that operational buffer because it consumes massive amounts of data directly without understanding unwritten rules or knowing which spreadsheets represent the official version.

Consequently, contextual understanding is just as critical as raw data quality. ReSource Pro’s Data Services practice aims to supply that necessary structure, quality, and context to complement the company’s broader Managed AI Services offering. Leitão noted that AI does not require a completely new foundation, but rather a stronger one.
Recently, ReSource Pro was named to the InsurTech100 list, which recognizes leading technology companies operating within the insurance sector.
