Apple Expands iCloud Mail Custom Domain Limits to 10 Addresses
iCloud+ subscribers can now create up to 10 personalized email addresses for each custom domain connected to iCloud Mail, according to an update reported by The Mac Observer. The updated limit applies per person and per domain, rather than restricting the total number of domains an account can add.
iCloud+ accounts support five custom domains
Apple’s updated Custom Email Domain support page indicates that an individual iCloud+ account can use up to five custom domains. Each of those five domains now supports up to 10 individual email addresses. A domain owner can share a single domain with up to five other people.
These adjustments clarify two common misconceptions regarding the service. Apple has not raised the overall account limit to 10 custom domains, and the recent changes do not provide nine standard @icloud.com aliases. Apple’s separate alias documentation continues to list a maximum of three aliases for a primary iCloud Mail address.

Requirements for Setting Up Custom Domains
Using the expanded limit requires an active iCloud+ subscription, two-factor authentication enabled on the account, and a primary iCloud Mail address. Each shared user must possess a valid Apple Account and accept a formal invitation before they can create addresses on the domain.
Addresses established on a custom domain can send and receive mail natively within Apple’s Mail apps and on iCloud.com. While setup locations have shifted slightly since the feature initially launched, The Mac Observer notes that the basic management interface remains accessible for subscribers.
Apple explicitly states that Custom Email Domain support is not available in every country or region. The feature also does not support managed Apple Accounts. Subscribers must verify their DNS records before moving active business or family addresses over to iCloud Mail. Existing users do not need to recreate their existing domains, as the additional address slots automatically appear through the standard iCloud+ management interface.
Custom domain users do not need to recreate domains
Do existing custom domain users need to recreate their domains to get the new limit?
No. Existing users do not need to recreate their domains. The additional address slots automatically appear through the standard iCloud+ management interface.
How many people can share a single custom domain?
A domain owner can share a custom domain with as many as five other people, provided each user has a valid Apple Account and accepts the invitation.
Does the new update increase the number of standard @icloud.com aliases?
No. Apple’s separate alias documentation maintains a strict maximum of three aliases for a primary iCloud Mail address.
