Casio Unveils G-SHOCK G-LIDE GBX-H5600 with Heart Rate Monitoring and Tide Graph
Casio Computer Co., Ltd. Has announced the release of the G-SHOCK G-LIDE GBX-H5600, a new timepiece designed for extreme sports and water activities. Launched on April 23, 2026, this model marks the first in the G-LIDE series to feature an integrated heart rate monitor, combining advanced fitness tracking with specialized tide and moon data functions.
Key Features of the GBX-H5600
The GBX-H5600 is equipped with an optical heart rate sensor and an accelerometer, enabling real-time monitoring of physical condition during exercise. It tracks metrics such as distance, calories burned, and other workout data. The device supports training functions for four activities: running, walking, gym workouts, and interval training.
Data collected by the sensors is processed using science-backed algorithms from Polar Electro, a global leader in wearable sports and health technology. Users can view detailed insights through the CASIO WATCHES smartphone app, which helps manage health and improve performance.
The watch features a high-definition memory-in-pixel (MIP) LCD display, ensuring clear visibility in direct sunlight and various viewing angles. It also includes Bluetooth connectivity for smartphone linking, automatic time correction, phone notifications, and a vibration option for alarms and alerts.
Design and Build
Despite sharing the same dimensions as the DW-H5600 model, the GBX-H5600 is 0.1 mm thinner and weighs 47 grams — 12 grams lighter than a resin-bezel DW-H5600 — due to its carbon-reinforced case back instead of stainless steel. The device is solar-powered and includes a rechargeable battery that can be charged via USB cable; however, Casio notes that while the time display can run on solar power alone, frequent apply of functions like the heart rate monitor may require wired charging.

Water Sports Functionality
Building on the G-LIDE line’s focus on seaside activities, the GBX-H5600 includes a tide graph showing tide levels and moon data indicating lunar phases. It offers 50 preset ports in its memory for tide tracking, with the ability to access up to 3,300 points via the CASIO WATCHES app. Users can also specify any location as a custom point for personalized tide information.
The watch is designed to support a wide range of activities, from extreme sports like surfing to everyday fitness routines.
