Vermeer Corp. Invests $102.7 Million in New Bondurant Facility, Creating 300+ Jobs

Pella-based Vermeer Corporation is expanding its Iowa footprint with a new $102.7 million production facility in Bondurant, set to create over 300 jobs. The project received significant support from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) through the state’s Business Incentives for Growth (BIG) program.

Expansion Details

The new 300,000-square-foot facility will be located on 186 acres within the Timmins Industrial Park in Bondurant . It will focus on the manufacture and support of Vermeer industrial parts and equipment. Construction is slated to begin this summer, with completion expected by the following summer .

Incentives and Investment

Vermeer was awarded over $5.13 million in tax credits through the IEDA’s BIG program . The city of Bondurant is likewise contributing over $29.45 million in incentives, including a six-year sliding scale property tax abatement, infrastructure improvements, and fee waivers .

Impact on Bondurant and Iowa

Bondurant City Administrator Marketa Oliver described the project as a “game-changer” for the community . The facility will be the third-largest private employer in Bondurant, behind Amazon’s distribution and sortation centers. The project is expected to open up 500 acres of industrial development and improve the balance between the city’s commercial, industrial, and residential tax base .

According to IEDA documents, the project will have a significant positive impact on the state’s gross domestic product, boosting manufacturing jobs and increasing demand for suppliers .

Vermeer’s Continued Growth

This investment builds on Vermeer’s recent expansion efforts, including the opening of a Des Moines operation in 2023, expansions in South Carolina and the Netherlands, and an acquisition in Australia . Jason Andringa, President and CEO of Vermeer, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and meeting growing customer demand .
