‘In the Heights’ Returns to Fresh York City Center
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s acclaimed musical In the Heights is set to return to the stage at New York City Center from October 28 to November 8, 2026. This marks a highly anticipated revival of the indicate, nearly 18 years after its Broadway debut.
About ‘In the Heights’
In the Heights, with concept, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, tells the story of a vibrant community in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Upper Manhattan, New York City, over the course of three days. The musical blends hip-hop, salsa, merengue, and soul music, celebrating themes of community, culture, and aspirations.
Production Details
The revival will be directed by David Mendizábal. Tickets will be available to New York City Center members starting May 7, 2026, at 12 PM, and to the general public beginning May 21, 2026. More information and tickets can be found at NYCityCenter.org/InTheHeights.
History and Accolades
In the Heights premiered in 2005 at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut, followed by an Off-Broadway run in 2007. It opened on Broadway in March 2008, receiving 13 Tony Award nominations and winning four, including Best Musical. The show also earned a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album and a Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music, as well as an Obie Award.
