KTR Criticizes Youth Congress Protest at AI Summit 2026
Hyderabad, February 22, 2026 – Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly condemned the protest staged by members of the Indian Youth Congress at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. KTR characterized the demonstration as “absolutely deplorable” and a display of “petty political theatrics.”
Protest Draws Criticism from Multiple Leaders
The protest, which reportedly involved topless demonstrators, sparked widespread criticism from various political leaders who deemed it inappropriate for an international forum intended to showcase India’s advancements in artificial intelligence. Leaders argued that such actions undermine India’s global image and are detrimental to the country’s standing on the world stage.
KTR’s Statement on X
KTR voiced his disapproval on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “It is absolutely deplorable that members of the Youth Congress chose the AI Impact Summit 2026 as a venue for petty political theatrics.” He emphasized that even as political dissent is a natural part of democracy, understanding the appropriate time and place for protest is crucial. He added that an international summit is not a suitable venue for political demonstrations. @KTRBRS
Irony of Timing
KTR also pointed out the irony of the timing of the protest, noting that it occurred while Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was addressing the same AI Summit.
Broader Concerns About India’s Image
The incident has ignited a broader political debate regarding the appropriateness of protests at international events designed to highlight India’s achievements. Concerns have been raised that such demonstrations could negatively impact India’s global reputation and deter foreign investment. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his shame regarding the protest, stating the need for a united front when presenting India to the world. Moneycontrol
