Indonesia Selected as One of the Ten Best Teams in the World on the Global Innovation Stage as Solve for Tomorrow Global Ambassador
Samsung Electronics Indonesia is proud to announce the Labmino Team from the University of Indonesia, as one of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) Global Ambassadors. This achievement is an important milestone for Indonesia, which for the first time qualified as SFT Global Ambassador and made Indonesia one of two countries in South East Asia and Oceania (SEAO) to achieve that position.
The success of the Labmino Team marks global recognition for the innovation of Indonesian youth which originates from real challenges in society and is translated into technology-based solutions that are impactful, inclusive and sustainable. Through RunSight, the solution wearable AI-based designed to help people with visual disabilities run independently and safely, the Labmino Team shows how technology can open up more equal access in the world of inclusive sports.
More than just competition, SFT becomes learning journey forming the leadership of Indonesia’s young generation at the global level, encouraging young people to connect empathy, technology and social impact in one real solution.

Learning journey The Labmino team in Samsung Solve for Tomorrow started from the early stages of the program, when they had to go through a long process of honing ideas, developing solutions, and proving that the innovations they designed had real relevance and impact on society. This program is a learning space that brings together challenges, collaboration and reflection processes that shape the team’s way of thinking as young innovators.
Apart from the comfort aspect, the Labmino Team is also faced with the challenge of creating a device that is low cost and energy efficient. This prompted the team to optimize the use of complex artificial intelligence to keep it light, efficient and usable in running activities without compromising performance or user safety.
“Taking part in Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a journey that really changes the way we see ourselves and the potential we have. We feel very happy and proud to be able to carry Indonesia’s name as a Global Ambassador. For us, this is not just about winning a program, but about proving that ideas born from concern can grow into real, impactful solutions. We hope this achievement can inspire more young Indonesians to dare to dream bigger, innovate with empathy, and believe that their work can provide meaning to many people,” said Anthony Edbert Feriyanto, Tim Labmino.
In line with this, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd.emphasized the importance of the role of innovation and mastery of science and technology as the foundation for national transformation, “We are proud to see that the Labmino Team is able to stand on an equal footing and contribute to global forums. Science and technology-based innovations like this show the great potential of Indonesia’s young generation in responding to real challenges towards a Golden Indonesia 2045. We also appreciate Samsung’s initiative through Solve for Tomorrow which is in line with the government’s efforts to strengthen education and the innovation ecosystem, by opening up space for the young generation to develop technology-based solutions that have a social impact.”
This experience confirms the role of the Labmino Team as an inspiration for the younger generation. The journey that started from a simple idea full of empathy, to developing into a technology-based solution that is recognized globally, is an example that innovation can grow from concern for the environment and can be started by anyone.
The Labmino Team’s achievements received appreciation from Samsung as a concrete manifestation of young innovation-based leadership.
