The protected bird of prey was discovered sitting alongside Dientner Landesstraße (L216), prompting concerns from the Salzburg State Police Department regarding potential traffic hazards as drivers attempted to avoid the animal.

Responding to the situation, the Dienten am Hochkönig fire department assisted police in safely securing the buzzard within a protective box. Initial assessment indicated a probable injury to the bird’s right wing. The injured buzzard was subsequently transported to a wildlife rehabilitation institution located in Lungötz for specialized care and recovery.
