INSSSEP Warns Affiliates Against Scammers Soliciting Personal and Financial Data
The Instituto de Seguridad Social, Seguros y Préstamos (INSSSEP) will never request bank details, passwords, or verification codes through unofficial calls, messages, or contacts.
The Bait: Fake Awards and Health Solutions
Fraudsters are leveraging the INSSSEP name and logo in social media posts and fake communications to deceive affiliates. According to reports from eldifusor.com, scammers often lure victims by offering “awards,” “reimbursements,” or “health-related solutions.” Once trust is established, the attackers request the personal data necessary to open credit lines in the victim’s name or empty their accounts.
Germán Landriel, vocal activo for the INSSSEP, was clear about the institution’s protocol: the agency does not initiate requests for sensitive data via social media, WhatsApp, or phone. “If you receive a call claiming to be from the INSSSEP and asks for your DNI number or other personal details, hang up immediately,” Landriel advised, as cited by diariozona.com.
60 Service Points for In-Person Verification
To combat these threats, the INSSSEP directs affiliates to its more than 60 service points across the province. The institution urges individuals to ignore unsolicited messages and instead seek assistance in person.

Mobilizing 270,000 Affiliates Against Fraud
The organization has formed a dedicated commission to train staff in identifying scam attempts and managing fraud cases.
“We are not just two or three people—we are over 270,000.”
Institutional Channels and Data Storage
Official INSSSEP communications occur only through institutional channels. Because the institution already records affiliate data upon initiating a procedure, there is no operational need for unsolicited requests for sensitive details. Affiliates are reminded to provide personal or financial information only through verified digital platforms or during in-person visits to a delegation.
