Intars Busulis Announces Nationwide Latvia Tour and New Album Release
Latvian singer Intars Busulis has announced a nationwide concert tour across Latvia alongside the release of a brand-new studio album built around live instrumentation. The upcoming concert series, titled “Deg mans ugunskurs,” will feature tracks from the new record alongside well-known songs from his earlier career.
Busulis Prioritizes Live Sound over Digital Production
Busulis collaborated closely with composer Kārlis Lācis on the new material, while Reinis Sējāns stepped in as the album’s producer. The project places heavy emphasis on organic instrumentation rather than digital production.
“I am pleased with what I have accomplished and am really happy that live sound plays the most important role in the creation of the album. Together with Reinis, we came to the idea that we are returning to a time when the interplay of musicians, vocal parts and instrument arrangements were decisive, not the possibilities provided by computers,” Busulis stated.
For the lyrical content, the composers commissioned works from poets including Marts Pujāts, Kārlis Vērdiņš, and Kate Elpo. The tracklist also features a composition by Vineta Lāce set to words by Zinaīda Lazda.
The album’s title track, “Uguns,” features music by Busulis and Lācis with lyrics penned by Marts Pujāts. «The song tells of a gloomy oppression, which weighs us down like a heavy cast-iron cauldron. But even in such times we can not let the fire go out and continue to keep it alive,» Pujāts explained. In addition to other releases, the album is available on vinyl records featuring photography shot by Filips Šmits.
