Intel’s next-generation workstation chips will soon be available. The price of the cheaper versions will be around $500, but the range goes up to $7,699.
The new Xeon chips are based on Intel’s Granite Rapids architecture and are meant to replace the previous Xeon W-2500 and W-3500 series. The new Intel Xeon 600 series products have the following specifications:

The above products support 6400 MT/s DDR5 memory speed and Intel vPro technology. Only a few CPUs will be available in box form: Xeon 696X, 678X, 676X, 658X and the Xeon 654. Chips marked “unlocked” can be overclocked.

The Xeon 600 CPUs are made with the new Intel 3 manufacturing technology and Redwood Cove cores. According to the company, this resulted in better energy efficiency compared to previous generation Sapphire Rapids Xeon processors. Compared to the 60-core Xeon W-3595X, Intel promises up to 9% higher single-threaded performance and up to 61% higher multi-threaded performance, depending on the load.
Systems based on Xeon 600 processors are expected to become available from March 2026.
