UN Secretary-General Antonio guterres expressed concern “that international law has not been respected,” deploring a “dangerous precedent” and calling “all actors in Venezuela to engage in an inclusive dialogue, with full respect for human rights and the rule of law.”
Colombia
Colombia has announced the deployment of troops to its border with Venezuela. President Gustavo Petro, a close ally of Nicolás maduro, denounced a U.S. “missile” attack on Caracas, describing Washington’s actions as an “attack on the sovereignty” of Latin America and warning of a resulting humanitarian crisis.
“General alert, they attacked Venezuela,” President petro wrote on X (formerly Twitter). He requested an “immediate” meeting of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the UN to determine the “international legality” of this “aggression” against Venezuela.
Brazil
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva condemned what he called a “serious attack on the sovereignty of Venezuela,” stating that “the bombings on Venezuelan territory and the capture of its president exceed the limits of the acceptable” and threaten “the preservation of the region as a zone of peace.”
He also urged the international community, through the United Nations, to “respond vigorously” to the attacks.
Mexico
Mexico condemned the U.S.bombing of Venezuela on Saturday, warning that any “military action seriously jeopardizes regional stability.”
“The Government of Mexico condemns and rejects with the utmost firmness the military actions carried out unilaterally in recent hours by the Armed Forces of the united States of America against objectives located in the territory of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

In contrast to the widespread condemnation,Argentinian President Javier Milei enthusiastically welcomed the U.S. strikes, exclaiming “Freedom advances, long live freedom, damn it!”
China
Beijing stated it was “deeply shocked” and “strongly condemned the blatant use of force by the United States against a sovereign state and its action against its president.”
“This hegemonic behavior of the United States seriously violates international law, undermines the sovereignty of Venezuela and threatens peace and security in Latin America,” a statement from China read.
