Iowa Women’s Gymnastics Concludes Regular Season with Strong Performances at Minnesota Quad
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team finished its regular season with a second-place result at the Minnesota Quad on Sunday, posting a team score of 196.475. The GymHawks concluded the regular season with an overall record of 14-6.
No. 13 Minnesota secured the meet victory with a score of 197.825, followed by Illinois in third place at 195.150 and Northern Illinois rounding out the standings with 191.400.
Career-High Performances Highlight Iowa’s Showing
Freshman Sophie Schriever and fifth-year JerQuavia Henderson both achieved top-three finishes on vault. Schriever earned a career-high score of 9.925, securing second place, while Henderson tied for third with a season-best 9.900. Senior Gianna Masella likewise marked a career-high, scoring 9.925 to place third on bars in her final regular-season meet.
Schriever also excelled in the all-around competition, finishing second with a total score of 39.250. Sophomore Aurélie Tran followed closely behind in third place, scoring 39.200.

Beam
The Hawkeyes began the meet on beam, achieving a team score of 48.900. Schriever led the rotation with a solid routine, earning a 9.875. Fifth-year Haley Tyson contributed a season-best score of 9.850, and freshman Maggie Ball added a 9.775.
Following the first rotation, Iowa held second place, trailing Minnesota’s score of 49.450.
Floor
Iowa earned a 49.100 on floor, highlighted by a career-high performance from freshman Stella DePaola, who anchored the rotation with a score of 9.850. Tran and Turner both contributed scores of 9.825, while Tyson and Henderson each posted 9.800. At the halfway point, the Hawkeyes remained in second place, trailing Minnesota by 0.775.
Vault
In the third rotation, Iowa posted a season-best vault score of 49.275. Schriever led the way with her impressive 9.925, followed by Henderson’s season-best 9.900. Turner and Tran both contributed scores of 9.825, and DePaola matched her career-high with a 9.800. Senior Avery Chambers rounded out the lineup with a 9.775.
Heading into the final rotation, Iowa maintained its second-place position with a total score of 147.275, trailing Minnesota (148.275) but leading Illinois (146.375) and Northern Illinois (143.350).
Bars
Iowa concluded the afternoon on bars with a score of 49.200, marking the seventh consecutive week the team has achieved a score above 49.000. Masella led the GymHawks with her career-high 9.925, followed by Tran with a 9.850. Schriever added a 9.825, while Turner and freshman Daisy Bowles both contributed scores of 9.800. Henderson completed the rotation with a stuck landing for a 9.775.
