Boys’ State Wrestling Tournament

The Charles City Comets boys wrestling team competed in the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Xtreme Arena in Des Moines. Girls’ Wrestling Season Recap

The Charles City Comets girls wrestling team recently concluded an impressive season. Senior Tegan Cavanaugh, along with state qualifiers Gab Calpito and Emma Schmitt, were featured on KCHA News to discuss their experiences. [3]

Cavanaugh will attend Hawkeye Community College for respiratory therapy after graduating. Calpito and Schmitt reflected on the pressure and excitement of competing at the state level and are looking forward to their senior seasons. The team celebrated 100-win banners and comeback victories throughout the season.
