Hartwell, a 6-foot-5 center from Westside High School in Anderson, South Carolina, ranks as the nation’s No. 16 overall player, the No. 2 center, and the top-ranked prospect in South Carolina, according to 247Sports data cited by Hawkeyes Wire. Rivals rates her slightly differently as the country’s No. 26 player, the No. 3 center, and the top player in her state. Hartwell earned South Carolina’s Gatorade Player of the Year honors after averaging 12.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game.

According to Hawkeyes Wire, the center’s itinerary sandwiches Iowa between official visits to Georgia on Sept. 4 and Virginia Tech on Sept. 18. The Hawkeyes are leveraging their campus pitch alongside the peer influence of fellow visitor Jada Seubert to strengthen their standing with the elite recruit.

Her performance earned her first-team all-state honors, alongside unanimous WVC All-Conference Co-Player of the Year and WVC Defensive Player of the Year recognitions.
