Iran’s IRGC Escalates Attacks on Israel and US Bases Amidst Operation True Promise 4

Tehran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has continued its retaliatory strikes against Israel and US military installations, marking the 37th wave of its “Operation True Promise 4.” The escalating conflict follows recent strikes by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets. The IRGC claims to have targeted sensitive and strategic locations in multiple countries, raising concerns about regional stability.

Recent IRGC Attacks

The IRGC announced the launch of the “37th wave” of Operation True Promise 4 late Tuesday night, utilizing what they describe as “continuous, multi-layered missile strikes, including the heaviest type of missiles.” Targets reportedly included:

• Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan: Military targets in Erbil were struck.
• Bahrain: The US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain was targeted.
• Be’er Ya’akov, Tel Aviv: Military centers in Be’er Ya’akov, Tel Aviv were reportedly hit.
• Kuwait: The IRGC claims to have destroyed Ali Al Salem and Arifjan bases, which house US troops, using missiles and drones.

The IRGC utilized Kheibar Shekan, Qadr and Khorramshahr missiles in these attacks.

Cluster Munitions and IDF Response

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has revealed that approximately half of the 300 ballistic missiles launched by Iran at Israel carried cluster bomb warheads. Whereas most of the missiles were intercepted, one exploded in an open area outside Beit Shemesh, near Jerusalem, causing no injuries. Cluster bomb warheads disperse numerous submunitions over a wide area, each containing several kilograms of explosives.

US Base Attacks and Threats

The IRGC likewise claimed to have struck three US air bases with missiles and drones, including Al-Harir air base in Erbil, and Ali Al Salem and Arifjan bases in Kuwait. Minor injuries were reported to three members of the Kuwaiti army after a drone attack on the Ahmed Al-Jaber air base.
