Cole Eiserman Signs Entry-Level Contract with New York Islanders

The New York Islanders have secured a key piece of their future, signing forward Cole Eiserman to a three-year, entry-level contract on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. ESPN and NHL.com reported the signing, which will begin with the 2026-27 season and extend through the 2028-29 season.

Immediate Plans: Bridgeport Islanders

Eiserman, 19, is expected to join the Bridgeport Islanders, the Islanders’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, on an amateur strive-out contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. Bridgeport Islanders announced the ATO on March 18, 2026. This will provide him with valuable professional experience before competing for a spot on the NHL roster in the September training camp.

A Rising Star

Drafted 20th overall by the Islanders in the 2024 NHL Draft, Eiserman has quickly established himself as one of the organization’s most promising prospects. He finished his sophomore season at Boston University with 28 points (18 goals, 10 assists) in 32 games, leading the team in goals and power-play goals (6). NHL.com highlighted his impressive collegiate performance.

Impressive Collegiate and International Career

Over two seasons at Boston University, Eiserman recorded 57 points (38 goals, 19 assists) in 64 games. He was a key contributor to BU’s run to the 2025 Frozen Four, scoring the game-winning goal in the national semifinal. His success extends to the international stage, having helped the U.S. Win gold at the under-20 (World Juniors), under-18 and under-17 world championships. He recently competed in the 2026 IIHF Under-20 World Junior Championship, registering three points in five games, following a seven-point performance in seven games at the 2025 tournament.

U.S. National Team Development Program Standout

Before his collegiate career, Eiserman excelled at the U.S. National Team Development Program, where he became the program’s all-time leading goal scorer with 127 goals in 119 games. His 193 points rank second only to Jack Hughes, currently a star center for the New Jersey Devils. ESPN noted his impressive record at the program.

Islanders Add Depth with Aitcheson Signing

The Islanders have been active in securing their future, also signing defense prospect Kashawn Aitcheson to an entry-level contract on Tuesday, March 18, 2026. Aitcheson is eligible to play in the AHL next season.
